ONE Trust, One Vision, Ambition for All

Governance

Accountability/Structures

Driving up educational standards and financial performance is the responsibility of ONE Trust Board, led by the Chair. It is the body accountable to the DfE for contractual obligations under the funding agreement. The Trustees are the decision-making body of the academy trust (both charity trustees and company directors) and responsible for all the academies (schools) in the academy trust. The Trustees’ work will comply with the trust's charitable objects, with company and charity law, and with the contractual obligations and Company Directors' duties are described in sections 170 to 181 of the Companies Act 2006.

The Trustees of ONE Trust will focus on three core functions:

  • ensuring clarity of vision, ethos, and strategic direction
  • holding executive leaders to account for the educational performance of the organisation and its pupils, and the performance management of staff
  • overseeing and ensuring effective financial performance.

To support this, we have a distinct model to support all those with key roles and responsibilities who are accountable to the Trustee Board through the structure of meetings and procedures.
