Policies
Overview
The pages in this section contain the statutory trust-wide policies and important policies which provide information about how we operate and manage our organisation effectively and efficiently.
This is not an exhaustive list of policies. Please get in touch with us if you have a query about our policy framework.
Our schools also have a list of school-specific policies, which can be found on their websites and which are in accordance with the policy schedule of our Scheme of Delegation.
Admissions
Admissions Policy consultation 26th October 2026 - 6th December 2026
ONE (Owl North East) Trust is consulting on the Academy’s admissions arrangements. These arrangements are for students who will be starting in September 2028.
The consultation is taking place for a period of six weeks from 26th October 2026 to 6th December 2026.
The Trust must set (“determine”) admissions arrangements annually. Where changes are proposed to admission arrangements, the Trust must first publicly consult on those arrangements. If no changes are made to admissions arrangements, they must be consulted on at least once every 7 years.
ONE (Owl North East) Trust is not proposing any changes to its admissions arrangements for September 2028, however, is consulting in accordance with the requirement to consult on a 7-year cycle. You will find the consultation draft of the 2028-29 Admissions Policy in the policy link below.
You are invited to review the admission arrangements and to ask yourself the following questions:
- Are the arrangements reasonable
- Are the arrangements clear
- Are the arrangements objective
- Do the arrangements comply with the School Admissions Code 2021 and the School Admissions Appeals Code 2022, and the laws and regulations behind them.
Responses to this consultation should be sent to info@onetrustacademies.org.uk. The closing date is 6th December 2026.
Current Admissions Policies
The 2026-27 and 2027-28 ONE Trust Admissions overarching policies are not part of the consultation and can be found below. However, please visit the individual school websites for their school-specific Early Years Admissions Policies along with the associated information regarding the in-year application process.
In-Year Applications

Appeals Timetable
Timetable for reception or transfer places in middle, secondary and high schools
For reception or transfer appeals for places in September, you will have at least 20 school days to submit an appeal from the day you received notice that your application was unsuccessful.
The deadlines for submitting an appeal in order to ensure that it is heard before the end of the summer term are:
- Transfer place – March 2027 (please refer to the Admissions Policy of the school you want your child to attend.)
- Reception place – 15th May 2027
Appeals submitted within the deadlines will be heard within 40 school days of these dates. You can submit an appeal after these dates but it may not be possible to hear your case until after the summer holiday. Then it will be considered after the panel has already heard any appeals which were submitted within deadline.
Where possible appeals arising from late applications will be heard within 40 school days of this deadline or within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
Appeals submitted after the deadline will be heard within 40 school days of receipt, where possible.
In-year appeals
Appeals for in-year admissions will be heard within 30 school days of the appeal being lodged.
